folliculitus spots shaving rash on skin

Folliculitis / Spots

Folliculitis is the medical term  commonly referred to as Shaving Rash.

Folliculitis refers to redness or even yellow heads appearing within the openings on the skin through which the normal hairs are growing.

This typically affects the shaving area of men but can affect the legs in men and women and is due to bacterial colonisation inside the hair follicle.

Specialist treatments are usually needed as this can be persistant and annoying in some patients. Expert advice will be beneficial, now would be a good time to consult our specialist here.
