Lichen Sclerosus

This is not a sexually transmitted disease and it is not infectious. The cause is unknown. Recognition and observation is important due to links with other disorders.

A rare skin disease which can affect any area of the body but more commonly affects the genital skin causing a distinctive appearance shiny red and then later shiny or dry white patches on the skin requiring expert diagnosis by a specialist as it occasionally carries serious associations.
