Dr Ashworth has worked as a full time dermatologist since 1982 and gained specialist accreditation in dermatology from the Royal College of Physicians in 1989. He has worked throughout the UK in many hospitals in major cities, Glasgow, London, Preston, Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester. He has a successful private practise based in Cheshire, UK, where he also works for the National Health Service .
Dr Ashworth is a Member but was later elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in London, he is a consultant member of the British Association of Dermatologists and the British Society of Dermatological Surgeons. He won in open competition a prestigious research fellowship awarded by the Medical Research Council. He has gained several awards and prizes throughout his career and has over seventy publications.
As an expert in the field of dermatology, Dr Ashworth is a sought after medical expert to the legal profession, preparing specialist medical reports for the use in legal cases.
Dr Ashworth has wide experience in all aspects of dermatology; skin cancer, acne, moles, psoriasis, warts, eczema, skin aging and skin allergies. He has special interest in using the internet and information technology tools (such as digital photography) in order to provide education and online consultations for GP's and patients. He believes in raising awareness of skin conditions for the public and those in the medical profession - rapid availability of a consultant opinion is what he is striving to achieve
